Badges for a README

Each bank's rate and the next decision as a small image for a GitHub README, a dashboard or a Notion page. They update with the site. Paste the Markdown; the badge links to its page. For shields.io, use the JSON beside each one: https://img.shields.io/endpoint?url=https://interestratedecision.com/badge/fed.json.

How it works

  • Paste it once. The script version finds every ird-widget on the page, puts the widget there and keeps its height right as it changes. More than one on a page is fine.
  • It stays up to date. The figures update with the site, every two hours and within minutes of a decision. Countdowns tick in your reader's own time zone.
  • It matches your site. Light, dark or the reader's own setting, your accent colour, with or without a border.
  • It is private. No cookie and nothing loaded from anyone else. Views are counted like the site’s own pages: a daily total, nothing about the reader. Keeping the link under it is all we ask.

On your platform

  • WordPress: a Custom HTML block.
  • Webflow, Wix, Squarespace: an Embed or Code block.
  • Ghost, Substack-style editors: an HTML card, or the plain iframe where scripts are not allowed.
  • Notion and forums: paste the widget's address, /embed/odds/?bank=fed and so on, where embeds are allowed.

A problem, or a widget you want that is not here? Write to dylan@forexiapro.com. The figures themselves are free to download, and the odds are explained on the rate odds page.

Questions

Widgets: questions

Are the widgets free?

Yes, for any site, commercial or not. There is no sign-up and no key. Keep the plain link to InterestRateDecision.com under the widget: that is all we ask.

Do the widgets set cookies or track my readers?

No. They set no cookie, store nothing in the browser and load nothing from anyone else. Like this site’s own pages, a widget view is added to a daily total with the name of the site it is on, which says nothing about who is reading.

How often do they update?

Whenever the site does: every two hours, and within minutes of a decision. Countdowns run live in the reader’s browser, in the reader’s own time zone.

Will it work on WordPress, Webflow, Ghost or Wix?

Yes. Paste the code into a Custom HTML block (WordPress), an Embed element (Webflow, Wix) or an HTML card (Ghost). Where scripts are not allowed, use the plain iframe code instead.

Where do the odds come from?

From the record of every central bank decision since 2008, counted with fixed rules, not from futures markets. Each bank’s odds page shows how right they have been.
